Candido Crespo
October 1-31
Candido Crespo's art collides the monstrous with the mundane, exploring Puerto Rican identity and pop culture's influence. He combines painting and printmaking to create humorous and horrifying narratives. Traditional imagery and pop culture references become tools to explore colonialism, diaspora, and cultural preservation with a critical eye. Through laughter and discomfort, he challenges viewers' perceptions and celebrates the vibrant complexity of Puerto Rican culture amidst the globalized pop landscape.
