Body Paragraph

The book “The Great Gatsby”, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, isn’t an ordinary story about wealth and love. This is a story told by an outside character named Nick. Nick had recently moved to Long Island in the 20s to an area called West Egg. West Egg was known to be the less “trendy” side of Long Island. As Nick bought a cute little house near the bay, his neighbor lived in a humongous mansion. Although his neighbor was the most known man of all Long Island due to his frequent and boisterous parties, Nick had never seen his face. On the other side of Long Island, known as East Egg, all the “old money” folks lived there. Among these people lived Nick’s beautiful cousin, Daisy Buchanan. Daisy Buchanan married a wealthy man named Tom, who was a football collegiate athlete at Yale. As Nick became intertwined with the business of Daisy and her peers, he began to experience what their life was like. One day, Nick receives an invitation to a party belonging to a man named Gatsby. As Nick arrives to this party, he is stunned by the entertainment, decorations, and liveliness. He comes to find out that Gatsby is actually his neighbor, and he finally sees his face. Nick and Gatsby become acquainted with each other, which allows Nick to know more about Gatsby’s life. There are numerous rumors about Gatsby since he is known to be a mysterious man, but there was one thing that was cleared up by Gatsby himself; Gatsby had bought that house across the bay for a reason. Right across stood Daisy Buchanan's house, and he had longed that she had lived with him. The story of Gatsby’s and Daisy’s past romance is revealed, and they begin to reignite the spark, but Daisy is torn between whether or not she should live her fantasy with Gatsby or be secure with Tom. This story lets you in on each character's lives, including things that other characters don't know. It lets you in on suspense, drama, and mystery, always keeping you on your toes.
