During one of their trips, they run over a woman and kill her, then leave without being responsible and her husband is in grief and wants to avenge his wife. Towards the end Daisy decides to stay with Tom and not with Jay and Jay doesn’t accept this. While Jay thinks of a way to convince Daisy to come with him, the husband of the woman who Jay and Daisy ran over comes to Jay's mansion and confronts him.
