Body Paragraph

Kindred by Octavia E. Butler is a thought provoking novel that blends science fiction with historical fiction making it unique compared to other historical fiction novels and the story is being told by the main character Dana, an African American woman. This novel takes place when there was still slavery in the south and Dana is sent back to that time. One of the most compelling aspects of Kindred is its unique way of implementing time traveling in a story like this and I like how the characters in the novel are well developed making it easier for students to connect and understand them. In conclusion, Kindred is a compelling and educational read for high school students and I like how the novel is able to captivate the readers with its engaging narrative.
